The School and its Goals

The International School of Bremen aims to meet the educational needs of the internationally oriented  community in and around Bremen. The school is co-educational and offers an international programme to students of all nationalities.

In line with its international orientation, ISB is particularly committed to the principles of international understanding, tolerance and equality, respect for one's own culture and openness towards that of others nurtured among the students of the ISB. As such, the school will encourage not only the intellectual and physical skills of its students, but also social commitment. It is the school's objective to support its students on their way to becoming well-educated, confident and responsible young people.

School life is characterised by an open and pleasant atmosphere, as well as a strong sense of community and high academic demands. Small classes enable the teachers to work with the needs of the individual student.

The City

Bremen is located in the North of Germany. Its city centre reflects a rich medieval trading background, while its modern industrial base draws high tech businesses that support the image of German's 'Space City'. A public and private university creates a strong academic tradition of which the ISB is part.

The dedicated and experienced teachers at ISB come from a number of countries, including Australia, Germany, India, The Netherlands, Canada, Spain, United Kingdom, South Africa, Burma and USA. The members of our teaching staff are certified according to the standards of their home countries. Many of our teachers hold Master Degrees or Doctorates.
